Kyiv authorities will consider the issue of the work of public transport during the lockdown on Monday, March 22. This was announced by the first deputy head of Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznyk on his Facebook page.
He noted that the capital introduced the restrictions of the "red" quarantine zone on March 18 by the decision of the city commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies. However, the final decision on the work of public transport in the capital will be made on Monday, March 22.
"The position of the city on this issue is clear - public transport must work! Stopping transport will lead to a collapse in the city," Povoroznyk wrote.
Meanwhile, in Kyiv, from March 20 until April 9, strict quarantine restrictions will be introduced as Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported during the briefing.
“To stop the rapid spread of the disease, the commission on the emergency of Kyiv, made the next decision: from 00:00 March 20, in other words, in the night of Friday, Kyiv introduces strict quarantine restrictions because we need to save health and lives of people,” Klitschko reported.
