Wizz Air airline could take on the flight routes from Lviv airport supposed to be for Ryanair. This was announced by the general director of Lviv airport Tetiana Romanovska, reports RBC-Ukraine.
Lviv International Airport will try to negotiate with other airlines that can fly on the planned by Ryanair routes from Lviv. First of all, the airport hopes for the Wizz Air airline, which already performs flights from Lviv.
Romanovska said Wizz Air asked the airport for information on whether the routes planned by Ryanair would be considered new if it wanted to make them. Thus, Wizz Air expects to receive discounts for airport taxes.
“We confirmed that to them,” she said.
Also, Wizz Air asked the airport for permission to start the flights on new routes that were not scheduled by Ryanair. Wizz Air airline could start the new flights next summer.
“If Wizz Air does not confirm it, I will reach out to Air Berlin, Eurowings, easyJet, Germanwings. However, in this case, these flights can be started at least a year later,” Romanovska said.
As it was reported earlier Ukraine will resume negotiations with Ryanair involving Ministry of Infrastructure. Omelyan assured that the agreement will be signed only on favorable terms for Ukraine.
