The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) press charges against the wife of the former MP Semen Semenchenko suspecting her of stealing money from the Donbas Battalion Charitable Foundation as the SBU reported.

"Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the illegal activities of a citizen of Ukraine, who is suspected of embezzling funds from the accounts of the Donbas Battalion Charitable Foundation," the message says.

Thus, the pre-trial investigation established that the woman, having access to the fund's card account, carried out settlement operations and withdrawn cash. She spent the money on her own needs, not related to the activities of the fund and the battalion.

"The investigation has documented the fact of acquisition and embezzlement of more than 150, 000 hryvnias ($5,718.17) by the mentioned citizen. All this is from the funds that were donated by our compatriots for the needs and development of the volunteer battalion,” the SBU added.

The woman was announced on suspicion on the basis of a criminal offense due to the theft.

Natalia Muzyka confirmed this information on her Facebook.

"Today the SBU handed me a suspicion. And they did it on a video camera near the coffee shop. Article 185, part 3. Punished with imprisonment from three to six years”, Muzyka wrote.

On March 24, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and stopped the activities of the so-called private military company - a paramilitary armed formation not provided by law. Former MP of Ukraine Semen Semenchenko and National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) "agent" Yevhen Shevchenko are suspected of organizing private military company.

On March 26, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has chosen a measure of restraint for the former MP Semen Semenchenko. The court sent Semenchenko to a pre-trial detention center for 2 months without the right to post bail. Later it was reported that Semenchenko stays in the hospital.

At the end of September, the Security Service of Ukraine claimed that the pre-trial investigation in the case of Semen Semenchenko is over.
