Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin commented on the U.S. Secretary of State statement about Crimea’s annexation and stressed that the pressure on Russia should be enhanced, as he wrote on Twitter.

Moreover, the press office of the Foreign Ministry reported that the service welcomed the U.S. decision to urge Russia to respect the international law and restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity and expressed a deep gratitude to the U.S. for a practical assistance in opposition to Russia’s aggression.

“The Declaration confirms the consistency of U.S. policy concerning the respect of sovereignty and territorial integrity. As in the Welles Declaration of 1940, the United States of America consistently upholds the bedrock principle of international law, ex injuria jus non oritur. Illegal acts cannot create rights for the perpetrator,” the message says.
