The Ukrainian Embassy to the U.S. confirmed the unlocking of the American financial aid to Ukraine. It is planned to allocate $391.5 million to Ukraine as the embassy reported on Facebook.
The program Initiatives of aid to Ukraine in security issue supposes the allocation of $250 million. Moreover, it is planned to provide $115 million within the U.S. State Department program International Military Financing from 2019 budget. Another $26.5 million to be allocated from the 2018 budget.
“We welcome the support of the unblocking aid to Ukraine in security issue by the U.S. Administration and Congress,” the message said.
It is noted that these funds aim for purchase of weaponry and hardware as well as for provision of the services for improvement of the capacities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Such policy and support of the U.S. of the people of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression witness the strategic partnership between two states and major contribution in the strengthening of the European and Euro-Atlantic security.
As we reported the U.S. senators from the Republican and Democratic parties expect that the Congress will adopt the bill on the resumption of the plan on provision of the military aid to Ukraine in the sum of $250 million even if President Donald Trump aims to block it.
Earlier U.S. Department of Defense has reconsidered provision of military assistance for Ukraine, deciding to carry on. Thus, Pentagon will assign 250 million dollars for that matter.
