Washington Senate adopts resolution on Holodomor in Ukraine

Washington State Senate adopted the resolution on the Day of Holodomor to commemorate the victims of Holodomor in Ukraine of 1932-1933. This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA.

“Holodomor was a genocide committed by Joseph Stalin and the Soviet regime against the people of Ukraine”, the resolution says.

The decision was taken unanimously.

The main author of the resolution is Washington State Legislature Senator from the Republican Party Mark Miloscia.

Honorary Consul of Ukraine to Seatle Valery Goloborodko, who took part in hearings, handed over a letter of appreciation from Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Valeriy Chaly to Lieutenant-Governor of the State of Washington, President of the Senate Syrus Habib.

Earlier it was reported that a new electronic database of victims of Holodomor appeared in Ukraine. The resource will be interactive. Every person or family will have a possibility to create their own page or add materials or documents to the existing one.
