“Rolandas Kriščiūnas, Lithuanian Ambassador to the U.S., received a written answer of Walmart administration with a promise to stop selling goods with Soviet symbols soon,” the message says.
The statement of the Lithuanian Ambassador to the Head of the chain says that Walmart leadership did not want to offend the Baltic States. Yet, Kriščiūnas noted that “the clothes with the symbols of mass murders” has to be immediately removed from the market.
The politicians and diplomats of three Baltic states have appealed with a similar request to Walmart already.
Moreover, Adidas presented a new line with USSR emblem. Due to this, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance sent a complaint and reminded about the liability for distribution of the goods with banned symbols of the communist totalitarian regime on Ukraine.
As a result, the brand removed the picture of clothes with Soviet symbols from its official websites.
