Kurt Volker, the U.S. Special Envoy to Ukraine will visit Donbas on May 14. Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine claimed this during the briefing after the meeting with the leaders of France and Germany as 112.ukraine broadcasted.
‘On Monday (May 14) we expect the visit of Kurt Volker who is the U.S. State Department coordinator. We clearly emphasized that Russia should support the draft resolution which clearly implements the roadmap with the Minsk Agreements and UN peacekeepers. It should be included in the decision of the UN Security Council. It is a key position for us’, Poroshenko noted.
Earlier it was reported that Volker is going to visit the combat area in Donbas again - during his seventh visit in this office, which is slated for late April - early May.
Also, Volker demanded from Russia and the militants supported by it to stop threats to the OSCE observers. This statement is a reaction to the incident that took place on April 5 near the Kremenets, occupied by militants in the Donetsk area. Then the militants did not allow the OSCE monitors to launch a drone and threatened them with weapons.
