Verkhovna Rada refuses to repeal vote on medical reform

Only 45 MPs wanted to cancel the adoption of the law

The Ukrainian Parliament refused to repeal the decision on the draft bill #6327 on state financial guarantees on the provision of medical services and medicine. The vote was broadcasted by the official channel Rada.

Now the Speaker of the Parliament will be able to sign the document and hand it to the President for promulgation.

This October, the Rada adopted the law by 240 votes. The law constitutes the first stage of the medical reform.

The law provides for the allocation of at least 5% of the GDP into the medical sphere of Ukraine.  

It also states the wage of the doctor is to be equal to at least 250% of the average wage in Ukraine as of July 2016. This year the wage is $287.4 so the next year the doctors’ wage should be $696.
