The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed three members of the National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting, having adopted such draft resolution.
Rada TV channel broadcasted the plenary session.
The Parliament has decided to dismiss Olha Herasimyuk, Oleksandr Ilyashenko, Oleh Chernysh, members of the National Council of Television and Radio due to the end of the 5-year term of office.
This resolution will enter into force from the moment of its adoption.
Earlier, President Zelensky signed bill on continuous service of National TV Council.
According to the law, after 5-year term of office ends, a member of the National Council continues to perform his or her duties until a new one is appointed (except the cases of early termination of office).
Moreover, it is established that the parliament solves the issue of the appointment to the National Council to all vacant posts simultaneously. If the parliament fails to do it, the procedure of the appointment to the National Council will take place again.
The National Council will be equated to the state bodies of the first level defined by Ukraine’s Law “On state service”.
The specialist committee of Verkhovna Rada announces the beginning of the selection of the candidatures for the position of the member of the National Council on 90 days before the termination of the authorities of member/members of the council.
