The Central Election Commission has compiled a new protocol on elections of MP at 87th district (Ivano-Frankivsk region). According to the established results, candidate from the Servant of the People Party Vasyl Virastyuk remains the winner as the commission reported.
“According to the law on elections of MPs of Ukraine, Vasyl Virastyuk elected as the lawmaker,” the message says.
Thus, considering the decisions of the court and position of the Great Chamber of the Supreme Court, the commission has recognized the voting at six polling stations void and established the results without their consideration. After this, the votes for candidates have slightly changed. 14,811 people voted for Vasyl Virastyuk; 13,942 people voted for Oleksandr Shevchenko and 13,463 for Ruslan Koshulynsky.
Earlier Central Election Commission officially recognized the victory of Servant of the People party's candidate Vasyl Virastyuk at the by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
After processing 100% of the protocols, CEC informs that Vasyl Virastyuk from Servant of the People party gets 31.25% (15,076 votes), Oleksandr Shevchenko from For the Future party gets 29.69% (14,327 votes), Ruslan Koshulynsky from Svoboda came third with 28.86% (13,927 votes).
The elections at this district were accompanied by scandals on the vote counting. According to Opora observers, the elections were recognized void at five polling stations. The recounting of votes is disputed at the court. Moreover, the difference in votes for Oleksandr Shevchenko was detected at six polling stations. Some ballots disappeared at two polling stations.
On May 1, the Great Chamber of the Supreme Court canceled the protocol of the Central Election Commission on the establishment of the results at 87th district. Later, the Central Election Commission refused to register Vasyl Virastyuk as MP.
