In the city of Lysychansk, Luhansk region, vandals have damaged a monument to the perished Heroes-volunteers. Law enforcement officers are conducting operational-search measures to identify the intruders. It was reported by the head of the communication department of the police of Luhansk region Tatiana Pohukay on her Facebook page.

“The police in Lysychansk received a message at 22.40 that unknown persons damaged the monument to Hero-Volunteers. On this fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” Pohukay wrote on the social network.

Pohukay called on all residents with information about vandals to contact the police.

As we reported earlier, the monument to Stepan Bandera in Lviv was slashed with red paint on February 5.

Law enforcement officers have identified two natives of Khmelnytsky region, students of one of Lviv's educational institutions, aged 19 and 24. Investigators informed them of suspicions of committing a criminal offense.
