The U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo called assistance the U.S. provides to Ukraine and Georgia “visible” amidst their counterwork of Russian aggression and interference into elections, as he said during the hearings in the Committee on the international relations of the U.S. Senate as a reaction to the question of Senator Steve Chabot.
“We have provided the Ukrainian nation with means of defence, intelligence assistance, I have seen this on the previous position (CIA Head, - ed.)” before I was appointed as the U.S. Secretary of State.
He also stressed that America supported Ukraine and Georgia in opposing the Russian interference in the elections, in particular, during the current presidential run.
Pompeo reminded that the U.S. did not recognize Crimea’s annexation and wait till the situation on the peninsula will be settled.
