At a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Zahorodniuk, a delegation of US senators promised to continue political support for Ukraine in countering the hybrid threats from the Russian Federation. The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.
“We are talking about further sanctions pressure on the aggressor country, in particular, for the construction of Nord Stream-2,” said Senators Tim Kane and Angus King.
They promised Zahorodniuk that the Senate would fully support the initiatives of Ukraine and continue mutually beneficial cooperation.
Zahorodniuk acquainted the senators with the current situation in the domestic defense department and the plan for its reform.
As we reported, Ukraine and the U.S. have signed a protocol that defines further directions of cooperation between the defense agencies. Minister Zahorodniuk met with Laura Cooper, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia.
