USS Fort McHenry, the landing ship of the U.S. naval forces arrived in the Romanian port of Constanta in the Black Sea, as the website of the U.S. defence establishment reported.

USS Fort McHenry is the first American vessel which arrived in the Black Sea after Russia captured Ukrainian sailors and ships in Kerch Strait.

It is expected that the U.S. vessel will be in Constanta till January 10. Then, it will carry out mutual naval manoeuvers with the Romanian frigate in the territorial and international waters.

500 U.S. Marines can be placed on the ship, which is equipped with a well-dock for five air-bag transportation boats designed for landing of troops and the military equipment.

Besides, the ship carries anti-aircraft artillery and missile weapons.
