he US Department of State and the Department of Defense are in talks with Congress to provide Ukraine with more anti-tank weapons, such as Javelin missiles, under an emergency legal mandate of no more than $100 million a year as Foreign Policy reported.

It is noted that the United States is also considering increasing its presence in Ukraine to 44 troops, although the additional forces will perform only non-combat functions, advising and providing assistance to Ukrainian troops.

Kyiv also asked Washington to send the US National Guards, whose work on preparing the Ukrainian Armed Forces is limited only to the western regions of Ukraine, to other parts of the country.

Last month, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov appealed to his American counterpart Lloyd Austin with a request to provide the Ukrainian army with weapons systems, including those that the United States had never provided to Ukraine before.
