US helped Ukraine disclose over $3 billion of stolen public funds, - State Department

US support has contributed to over 300 criminal proceedings concerning corruption in Ukraine

The U.S. Department of State informs that the U.S. foreign assistance helped Ukraine discover $3.24 billion if stolen public funds, according to their statement on aiding in combatting corruption in Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Tunis, and Ukraine.  

The department also informs about helping to seize roughly $1.3 billion in cash. Apart from that, as U.S. law enforcement professionals are embedded in Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau, U.S. support has contributed to 333 criminal proceedings, 207 notices of suspicion, and the finalization of 108 indictments in cases related to corruption.
