H.R. McMaster, United States National Security Advisor, said that the US will continue supporting the defensive capabilities of Ukraine, according to his speech at the Reagan National Defense Forum.

“What we’re continuing to do is strengthen Ukrainian defensive capabilities, and, as everybody knows, it’s based on non-lethal systems, but you know, Ukrainians are very capable. And I saw John Abizaid here who has had a big role in this. The Ukrainians are embarked on a significant government reform effort, but also a military reform effort. And I think it would be extremely difficult for Russian proxies, Russia to make significant gains if they were to extend the territory they are controlling after their invasion of Ukraine,” he said.
As it was reported earlier, the US Senate passed the defence budget 2018, which foresees allocating $350 million for aiding Ukraine’s defence.
