U.S. Congress supports allocation of $250 million for Ukraine’s defense

The U.S. House of Representatives supported the allocation of $250 million to Ukraine for the security and defense as Ukraine’s Embassy to the US reported on Facebook.

“The number of funds allocated to the U.S. Defense Secretary for the provision of the security support to Ukraine is $250 million. $50 million of these funds should be allocated for the lethal weaponry,” the message said.

As the Embassy reported, the point about the cooperation with Ukraine in the cyber-security sphere is also included in the document. Particularly, the U.S. State Department is ordered to provide the report to the Congress on the state of the cooperation with Ukraine in the cyber-security to find new directions of such interaction and support.

“In the future, the bill on “U.S. budget for 2019 for the national defense needs” should be supported by Senate and passed for the signing of the U.S. president,” the Ukrainian Embassy said.

As we reported the United States in the near future will help Ukraine to strengthen its defense capacity by allocating 100 million dollars. Ukraine’s Defense Minister of Stepan Poltorak stated.

Earlier, the United States House Committee on Armed Services of the US Congress presented the draft law on the US budget for 2019 national defense, which provides for the allocation of 250 million dollars to Ukraine.
