The formal process of approval of the draft defense budget for the next year which provides $250 million for Ukraine kicked off in the U.S. Congress, as Ukraine’s Embassy to the U.S. reported on Facebook.
“The subcommittee on the defense of the appropriations committee of the U.S. House of Representatives approved the draft law “On allocations for needs of Defence Ministry” for 2020. The amount of funding proposed to be allocated for Ukraine is $250 million,” the message reads.
$50 million of the sum might be spent on provision of lethal arms of defensive nature.
The document provides that the means for aid should be spent on preparation of the soldiers, provision of military equipment, logistics, intelligence support of the armed forces and security forces of our state.
The document is to be approved by the full composition of the committee, voted for by the House of the Representatives of Senate and passed to the U.S. President for signing.
