The Committee on Budget of the U.S. Congress House of Representatives offered to enlarge the financial aid for Ukraine in the budget for 2019, which is provided by the U.S. State Department and Pentagon. This was reported on the Facebook page of Ukraine’s’ Embassy in the U.S.
“The Committee on Budget of the U.S. Congress House of Representatives approved its project on the law on allocations for defence ministry in 2019. The project provides $250 million financial assistance for Ukraine’s defence needs including defensive weapons. This sum is $50 million bigger than the allocations provided in the relevant financial aid programs for Ukraine approved in the law on budget 2018,” the message says.
Earlier, the U.S. Congress House of Representatives supported allocation for Ukraine’s defensive needs in the amount of $250 million within the bill on the U.S. defence budget for 2019.
As it was reported, the U.S. 2018 defence budget provides $350 million financial aid for Ukraine to enhance the security and defence, including the lethal arms.
Earlier, the U.S. State Department decided to sell Javelin missile systems to Ukraine.
