The US Congress has proposed to increase the amount of security assistance to Ukraine by $ 50 million, to $ 300 million, according to the draft US defense budget for 2022. Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, reported that on her Facebook page.

"We are grateful to congressmen and senators for the proposal to increase the amount of security assistance to Ukraine up to $ 300 million in the US defense budget for 2022. We very much hope that the allocation of this amount will be coordinated and approved by both chambers of the US Congress," Markarova said.

As it was reported earlier, the United States may sell or transfer to Ukraine the new Iron Dome air and missile defense systems. Congressmen offer the authority to look into the amendment in the document approved by the House Armed Services Committee’s for the fiscal year 2022. That amendment supposes sale or transfer of the weapon system to Ukraine, though it is highly unlikely that such system going to be deployed there anytime soon.
