US Attorney General on talks with Russian ambassador: Ukraine issue turned up

Jeff Sessions suspected by media of hidden contacts with Russia tells details of the conversation

US Attorney General and Justice Minister Jeff Sessions said he talked with the Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak in Washington. He said this during the press conference.

They talked on phone in advance and agreed on the meeting. His coworkers were also present at the meeting, according to Sessions.

“We talked a bit about the problem of terrorism, as I remember and suddenly Ukraine’s issue turned up – Ukrainian ambassador was visiting my office the day before. He (Kislyak) said that Russia had not done anything wrong,” Sessions told.

He also recalled that he had told Kislyak about his trip to Russia in 1991.

Russian ambassador asked him for lunch, but he refused, Sessions mentioned.

During the press conference, US Attorney General announced that he removes himself from probes of Trump’s ties with Russia.

Earlier i t was reported that Trump’s Attorney hid his contacts with Russian ambassador. US Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not disclose his two meetings with Russia’s representative.
