The U.S. does not support the ideas, which provide changing of the formats of international talks on Ukraine’s situation, as TASS reported referring to the representative of the U.S. State Department.
In particular, the diplomat commented on the offer of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to extend the composition of the participants of the negotiations on Donbas conflict settlement by involving the Head of the U.S. Administration Donald Trump.
“We fully support the efforts of President Zelensky aimed at recovery of Minsk (Minsk Agreements, - ed.) implementation,” she assured and added: “Ukraine is fulfilling its “Minsk” obligations in the fullest possible manner.”
“Russia has to do the same. Yet, changing of the format will not eliminate the real obstacle to the progress in “Minsk” implementation. “Absence of Russian political will” is this obstacle,” the U.S. State Department representative said.
As it was reported, on July 8 President Zelensky offered Putin to hold negotiations on the situation in Donbas in Minsk in the presence of the representatives from the U.S., France, and Britain.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine did not refuse from any diplomatic forms in regulating the situation in Donbas.
