Unknown thugs attack 112 Ukraine TV channel crew as they filmed story about illegal lumber production

A group of unknown assailants attacked the production unit of 112 Ukraine TV channel; the team was filming a story about illegal production of lumber in Zolochiv village, Kharkiv region.

The team's car has its tires punctured and assailants threatened to beat them up.

The reporter managed to call the police. Law enforcers reached the scene but never interfered. The police agents just stand by.

The TV channel's shooting unit expects KORD, the special police force to arrive at the site.

The incident took place when journalist Oleg Reshetnyak went live on the air and described the situation, but they noticed him and took his camera.

"We were shooting one of the local households; we used a quadrocopter to get the clear idea of the size of the lumber production. Then, workers and some aggressive lawyer rushed here. We've got flat tires now,m and the car is blocked. According to our soruce, the KORD group is on its way. Currently, they demand that we give them the USB drives that we used to save our videos; we refuse to five them. They threaten to deal with us; they are swearing. There's a car with EU license plates standing by, it blocked the road, and the tires are flat...", he said. At this particular moment of speech, the reporter was attacked. He has not contacted the editorial staff since then.

The TV channel demands that the law enforcers immediately take action.

The reporters are now staying in the car.

Previously, President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded to solve the issue of deforestation in the Kharkiv region immediately.

During his working visit to Kharkiv on July 17, Volodymyr Zelensky insisted on the immediate solution of the problem.

Director of the State Enterprise Zhovtneve Forestry Ruslan Chaharovsky named people involved in illegal felling of trees: Sysa, Sanin, Antypenko.

“I ask very much to pay special attention and solve this issue. You should sit down at one table, find out all and stop deforestation in the Kharkiv region. If you cannot do that, then other people will appear in your place," the president said.
