United States to donate vaccine refrigerators and $12.8 million to Ukraine to fight coronavirus

United States intend to provide cold chain support to Ukraine for Covid-19 vaccines storage, as reported in a joint US-Ukraine statement on strategic partnership released by the press service of the Ukrainian president following a meeting between the presidents of the two countries, Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden.

In addition, under the American Rescue Plan Act, Kyiv will receive an additional $12.8 mln in coronavirus-related aid.

It is noted that the United States provided Ukraine with approximately $55 mln in assistance in connection with the pandemic and donated about 2.2 million doses of coronavirus vaccines.

During a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Joe Biden assured that his country will continue to help Ukraine in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

As it was reported earlier, a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took place in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, on September 1 at 21:00 (Kyiv time).

The administration of US President Joe Biden has promised to allocate $45 mln in humanitarian aid to Ukraine this year.

As we reported, Ukraine would receive two new drugs for the treatment of Covid-19 at the end of the autumn-the beginning of winter.
