Law enforcement officers exposed an underground center for the production of fake Covid-certificates and government documents in Kyiv region, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
Law enforcement officers established that a 50-year-old resident of the village of Sofiivska Borshchahivka, together with 46- and 53-year-old Kyiv citizens, organized a firm that forged documents to remove obstacles when crossing the state border of Ukraine. Both citizens of Ukraine and foreigners applied to the firm.
The defendants entered false information into the electronic systems of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. The cost of the service was $250.
Law enforcement officers conducted 5 authorized searches and seized 420 cliches of seals of various enterprises, institutions and organizations, 2,373 blank forms of enterprises, institutions and organizations, 25 forged Covid vaccination certificates, forged temporary residence permits, computers, in particular equipment for the production of forged documents, flash drives, plastic cards for the production of forged documents, a hunting rifle, devices for shooting rubber bullets, ammunition, mobile phones and SIM cards of various operators in the office and at the residences of the defendants.
On this fact criminal proceedings under p. 3 of Art. 332 ("Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine"), Part 3 of Art. 358 ("Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps") of the Criminal Code of Ukraine were opened. The defendants face imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property.
As it was reported, a teenager from Mykolaiv created a scheme of forgery of Covid-certificates in the fake Diya application.
