Ukrzaliznytsia is completing work to restore the railway tracks on the Novoselytsia-Mamaliga section, where a karst landslide occurred. The movement of trains will be resumed today, the press service of the department reports.
“Railway workers have already rebuilt the destroyed part of the land, a total of 200 cubic meters of gravel and 225 cubic meters of rubble stone were removed. Currently, work is underway to ballast the tracks. Passengers of train №118 Chernivtsi - Chernihiv are invited to board in the evening according to the schedule,” the message reads.
It is noted that for safety reasons, trains will run at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour on the Novoselytsia-Mamaliga section, and round-the-clock supervision of the technical condition of the restored part of the tracks will also be established.
As it became known, there was a failure in the ground of the area of karst caves on the section Novoselytsia - Mamaliga due to soil erosion. Because of this, Ukrzaliznytsia changed the route of trains.
