The competitions in women's club throw have finished in Tokyo Paralympics.
Ukrainian Zoia Ovsii has won a gold medal setting the new Paralympic record. She threw the club for 25.12 meters. The Ukrainian overcame American Cassie Mitchell and Elena Gorlova from Russia. It is the second medal for Ovsii. Earlier, she won bronze award at the discus throw.
As of now, Ukraine has 94 medals – 24 gold, 44 silver, and 26 bronze, and occupies fifth place.
Earlier, Ukrainian Maksym Krypak has won the fifth gold medal at the men’s medley, setting the new Paralympic record in 200 m.
The 2020 Paralympic Games have started in Tokyo on August 24. The games will last from August 24 until September 5, 2021. About 4,400 athletes from 160 countries participate in the Paralympic Games.
About a hundred athletes come to Tokyo Paralympics from Ukraine. They participate in different competitions, particularly, archery, paracanoe, shooting, table tennis, and others. The biggest team in the Ukrainian Paralympic team is swimmers – 40 athletes.
