It is important that the above statistics are calculated on the basis of data provided by medical institutions under the Ministry of Healthcare.
“The number of abortions, according to healthcare facilities under the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine, in 2019 is 74,606, of which 727 were performed on minors,” the ministry said.
According to the Center for Health Statistics, the Ministry of Health, data for 2020 are still absent, as statistics on the number of abortions in Ukraine are collected based on the results of the calendar year.
It should be noted that in 2018, 46,552 abortions were performed in Ukraine, of which almost 400 were for minors.

In early June 2020, the Ukrainian Council of Churches agreed on cooperation with the Prime Minister announced the initiation of a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss issues of combating domestic violence, commercial surrogacy and creating appropriate social and other conditions to minimize abortion.
