Victoria Spartz, a native of Ukraine, will enter the US House of Representatives for the first time. She ran for the Republican Party in Indiana. Radio Liberty reported this.

Victoria Spartz received 50.7% of the vote, ahead of her closest rival, Democrat Christina Hale, by 5%.

"Growing up in socialist-controlled Ukraine, she experienced firsthand the dark side of socialism. Living through this molded her conservative political philosophy: limited government is always better, and financial and healthcare decisions should be made by individuals in the free market, not bureaucrats and special interests."

Spartz ran in the election, promoting the slogan "Stop Socialism!".

Victoria Spartz was born in the town of Nosivka, Chernihiv region. In 2000 she moved to the United States, in 2006 she acquired American citizenship.

In 2017, she was elected to the Indiana Senate.
