Ukrainian Union 'Self Reliance' nominates Andriy Sadovy for president of Ukraine

Ukrainian Union “Self Reliance” has officially nominated Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy for president of Ukraine on the elections in 2019 at today’s conference, as Interfax-Ukraine reported.

MPs from the faction “Self Reliance” are present at the conference along with Oksana Syroyid, the Vice Speaker of Ukraine’s Parliament, and the representatives of “Self Reliance” in the local authorities.

Besides, the leader of the party “Democratic Alliance” Vasyl Gastko and Glukhiv Mayor Michel Tereshchenko participated in the conference.

As it was reported, political parties “Democratic Alliance” and “Self Reliance” (Samopomich) Union decided to make a deal on a political alliance and participate in the coming presidential, parliamentary, and local elections together. 

Reportedly, Andriy Sadovy, the leader of “Self Reliance” Union, announced his intention to run for presidency in Ukraine.

“Democratic Alliance” party took part in the parliamentary elections in 2014 along with “Civil Position” of Anatoliy Hrytsenko, but they could not overcome the five-percent threshold. 

Presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled for March 13, 2019. The elections to the Ukrainian Parliament will be held on October 27, 2019.

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko stated that he guaranteed free, fair, democratic elections of the President, Parliament, and the local authorities.

Roman Bezsmertny, former People's Deputy of Ukraine, former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, People's Deputy of Ukraine and former prime minister of Ukraine (2005; 2007-2010), Anatoliy Hrytsenko, former Minister of Defence of Ukraine (2005-2007) declared their intentions to run for the presidency.

The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has not yet officially announced his participation in the elections.
