2020 Tokyo Paralympics: Ukrainian table tennis players win gold, silver medals

On August 30, Ukrainian athletes have won gold and silver medals at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games as Ukrinform reported.

Particularly, Kharkiv table tennis player Maryna Lytovchenko became the champion of the Paralympics. She defeated Russian Maliak Alieva ending the games with 3:0 score (11:6, 11:4, 11:3).

Lviv citizen Viktor Didukh has received the silver award. He played against a Chinese athlete in the final.

As of now, Ukraine has 47 medals – 11 gold, 24 silver and 12 bronze, and occupies fifth place.

As we reported, Ukrainian athletes won two gold medals at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo on August 29. Ukrainian athlete Oksana Zubkovska became the gold medalist of the Paralympic Games in long jump. Roman Poliansky received a gold medal in rowing. He covered the distance of 2,000 meters in 9 minutes 48.78 seconds, 12 seconds ahead of his closest rival from Australia. 

The 2020 Paralympic Games have started in Tokyo on August 24. The games will last from August 24 until September 5, 2021. About 4,400 athletes from 160 countries participate in the Paralympic Games.

About a hundred athletes come to Tokyo Paralympics from Ukraine. They participate in different competitions, particularly, archery, paracanoe, shooting, table tennis, and others. The biggest team in the Ukrainian Paralympic team is swimmers – 40 athletes.
