Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, the frontman of Okean Elzy Ukrainian band, confirmed that he would participate in the parliamentary elections as a leader of his newly created party, as he said during the presentation of his team in Kyiv.

“I have good news for you. We create a new political force. The party of real changes. We called this part “Golos” (“voice” in English, - ed.). That is why there will be a new voice in Ukraine today. My voice. Your voice. Our voices. With your support I will lead “Golos” party to the parliamentary elections,” he said.

Besides, Vakarchuk presented his team – ex-Deputy Minister of Economy Yuliya Klymenko, CEO of Transparency International Yaroslav Yurchishyn, veteran of the battle for Donetsk airport Andriy Sharaskin known under the nickname “Bogema”, professor of cardiology Yuriy Sokolov and former Acting Head of Odesa Region State Administration Solomiya Bobrovska.

“These are decent, professional and patriotic people. They look different at some things. But all of them consider corruption a serious threat. All of them believe that the economy has to be free. None of us wants Russia to interfere in Ukraine’s affairs. These are people who have changed Ukraine already. Together, we will change the Ukrainian politics. This team is not “first five”, not our list for the elections. Other parties talk about their lists. A list is just a working place for the politicians. We will talk about working places for people. But I can promise that when the Congress of “Golos” party forms our list, it will be our first real change,” Vakarchuk stated.
