Chief Editor of Echo of Moscow radio station Alexey Venediktov believes that captured Ukrainian sailors whom Russia detained in November last year, will not be exchanged, as he said in an interview for Strana.

“There will be no exchange. Another concept. It is about mutual steps. Give me something and I will give you something back. For instance, the story about captured sailors. After the first visit, I realized that Zelensky wants them to come back, but then they could return only by Viktor Medvedchuk’s plane. I told that to all my interlocutors. Kyiv did not understand that Putin wanted not to give power to Medvedchuk, but to give an opportunity to Zelensky because people don’t listen to each other,” he said.

Earlier, Medvedchuk stated that official Kyiv knows how to hold “all for all” exchange.

“Yes, several weeks ago (return of four Ukrainian sailors to Ukraine. – ed.). And the rest is exchange. Kyiv authorities can do that. Moreover, they know how,” he noted.

Besides, Medvedchuk believes that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has to return Ukrainian prisoners home as it is his task and responsibility.
