On September 4, the bilateral Ukrainian-Romanian Riverine-2019 drills have started in Romania. Ukrainian Navy, Ukrainian Sea Guard, and Romanian Navy and coastal guard of Romania participate in the drills as Ukraine’s Navy reported.
The military training will last until September 6 and will include the tactical maneuvering, mine actions, search and rescue of a person, who went by the board, search operation.
The maneuvers aim to work out the joint actions of the multinational boat tactical groups in waters of Danube to increase the level of their compatibility and possibilities.
Commander of Ukrainian Navy, Admiral Ihor Voronchenko and Head of the General Staff of Romania’s Navy Alexandru Mirsu headed the opening ceremony.
The small armored artillery boats Akkerman and Vyshhorod, training boar Smila and M-14 helicopter represent the Ukrainian side in the drills. Two armored patrol boats, two river minesweepers, one patrol boat, and river tugboat represent Romania in the drills.
Sea Breeze 2019, the Ukrainian-American military drills began in Odesa on July 1. Traditionally, the drills were held at sea, on the ground, in the air, and under the water surface.
