Ukrainian-Romanian drills Riverine-2018 begins in Odesa region

On September 4, in Izmail, Odesa region, the joint drills of the soldiers of Ukraine and Romania Riverine – 2018 has started as the press service of the Command of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The drills will last three days. The Navy and border guards of Ukraine and Romania will master the tactical elements in accordance with the NATO standards as a part of the boat task forces and will improve the interaction of the Coast Guards in the covering of the above-water situation at Danube River, tactical maneuvering and holding of the surveillance operations.

The exercises will take place at the Danube River from Ukrainian Izmail to Romanian Braila.

“We hold such bilateral Ukrainian-Romanian drills Riverine – 2018 for the first time and they aim to enhance the regional security and improve the interactions between the fleets of Ukraine and Romania. These maneuvers will allow us to maintain stability in the region, to qualitatively train the forces and implement the standards of the interaction between the Navies,” the message said.

As we reported the command post exercises Agile Spirit – 2018 has begun at Georgian military base "Senaki". The soldiers of the Detached Battalion of Marines present Ukraine at the drills.

As we reported the multinational military drills of NATO member countries and partners of the Noble Partner 2018 alliancestarted in Georgia on August 1 and lasted until August 15.

Also, we reported that next month Russia will hold the military drills “East – 2018” that is the biggest one in the last four decades.  300,000 soldiers, 36,000 hardware units and more than 1,000 aircrafts will be involved.
