"Europe and the European union have become the real synonyms of reforms, as well as values of democracy for Ukraine," Poroshenko announced.
He stressed that most Ukrainians have chosen European path and "broke up with Soviet and Russian empires for good".
He also noted that latest days in Ukraine have passed under the sign of Eurovision Song Contest, while the country has been visited by many foreign guests.
"Unfortunately, the celebration was marred by the horrible killings of civilians in Avdiivka," Ukrainian leader said, calling it a price paid by Ukraine for being free.
It is noteworthy that the press conference of Ukrainian president is scheduled for today at 3 p.m.
