Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced that Ukrainians can live without Russian social networks. He said this during the event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions. President's speech was broadcast by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"My Ukrainian people are also able to live without Russian social networks, controlled by KGB-FSB," he said.
Earlier today Petro Poroshenko announced that he will sign law banning Saint George's ribbon.
President Petro Poroshenko signed the decree banning major Russian web portals and social networks on May 16, 2017. Sanctions against Russian companies took force in Ukraine. VKontakte, Yandex, Odnoklassniki and other, 468 legal entities overall, as well as over a thousand individuals are on the new sanction list. Most Ukrainian users have already lost access to the respective websites.
