Ukraine has a plan for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas, the final stage of which is elections. Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak reported that, as Ukraine 24 wrote.
“One of the great achievements this year is that no one among our international partners has any questions about the Ukrainian position. And today the Ukrainian peace plan is on the table. This plan has what the Ukrainian people are looking forward to, and what, I hope, are waiting for all progressive countries, our partners, colleagues, etc. And what are the residents of Donbas waiting for in the first place, are our military and their families waiting for ... Therefore, today we managed to expose the atmosphere in the negotiation process in this way, as in Minsk and in the "Normandy format," when no one has any doubts about this, it remains only to receive an answer from our counterparts," he said.
Yermak stressed that the plan could be finalized, but the other side must decide whether it agrees to a peaceful settlement.
"And today here it is, the Ukrainian plan, something can be clarified. If you are" for "- go ahead. It can be clearly outlined in terms and end this war. If you are" no "- say loudly about it to everyone that you are not want to end the war in Ukraine. Naturally, the final stage of this plan is to hold local elections on the basis of Ukrainian law and the Copenhagen Convention. Accordingly, in preparation for these elections there is a certain term, during which it is necessary to prepare ... to demilitarize, to ensure a security regime in the uncontrolled territories," he said.
As we reported before, the next meeting of the leaders of the states - participants of the Normandy format is necessary, first of all, for Ukraine, since such negotiations will contribute to the end of hostilities in Donbas
