Ukrainian passport takes the 91st place in the Nomad Capitalist passport ranking. The company estimates the “value” of citizenship in 199 countries and world’s territories. This is mentioned in the company’s research, Radio Svoboda reports.
Ukraine shared the 91st place with Albania and improved its position compared with 2017 by 21 points. Nomad Passport Index estimates the citizenship under five factors. They are – tax system (30% out of the overall estimation), visa-free travel (50%), general world’s and people’s attitude, a possibility of dual citizenship and the level of liberty (last three factors – 10% out of the overall estimation).
As to the ranking, people with Ukrainian passports can enter 114 countries visa-free or under the facilitated procedure or its issuance. Ukraine is among five countries, which significantly improved their positions compared to the last year. Top five are Luxemburg, Ireland, Switzerland, Portugal, and Sweden. Russia appeared on the 87th, Belarus – on the 127th, Moldova – on the 90th, Georgia – on the 96th. U.S passport took 35th place. Libya, Yemen, Eritrea, Iraq, and Afghanistan hit rock bottom.
As we reported earlier, Ukrainian passport was ranked 44th in the Passport Index 2018, published by Henley & Partners in January. Ukraine was on the top of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) nations list.
