The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is to cover economic issues and renew the Central Election Commission (CEC) at the beginning of the next parliamentary session, as Andriy Parubiy, speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, said today.
“We will begin with those issues which we, unfortunately, didn’t have time to discuss during this session. It’s a block of economic issues. We’ve discussed only the privatization law out of this block, and it’s highly important, but it was just one law out of this block. This is why our work will begin from this topical block. And I’m really counting on moving to considering the members of the Central Election Commission in the first week. This is my preliminary plan, it mostly depends on when the President’s inquiry comes in,” he said.
He also noted that future CEC members will go through a special verification process.
