Ukrainian parliament excludes Savchenko from National Security Committee

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine excluded Nadia Savchenko, the non-affiliated MP from the membership of the National Security and Defense Committee. 261 MPs supported the decision.

According to the order, Nadia Savchenko was excluded from the key personnel of the committee and was released from the duties of the committee’s member.

The order comes into force since the day of its adoption.

On March 14, the Ukrainian Parliament Committee for National Security and Defense appealed to Andry Paruby, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada with a demand to put the project of the order on the exclusion of MP Nadia Savchenko from the membership of the committee to vote.

In January 2017, the Committee for National Security and Defense to exclude Savchenko from its personnel, however, the proper order was not submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.
