Ukrainian Oscar-nominee is Donbas by Serhiy Loznytsia

The Ukrainian Oscar Committee announced the movie which will be nominated from our country for Oscar in “Best Foreign Language Film” category. Donbass directed by Sergiy Loznitsa will compete for Oscar, as the Committee reported on its Facebook page.

The American Academy Awards will decide on whether the movie will be included into the final nomination.

It should be noted that five more movies participated in the selection. In particular:

"Brama" by Volodymyr Tykhy

"The Volcano" by Roman Bondarchuk

"Cyborgs" by Akhteim Seitablaev

"When the trees fall" by Marysia Nikityk

"Myth" by Leonid Canter

As it was reported, the American Academy Awards established a new Oscar nomination.

As we reported earlier Vulkan (The Volcano, - 112 International), the full-length movie by Ukrainian director Roman Bondarchuk brought him victory at the 15th Golden Apricot festival in Armenia.
