Valeria Lutkovska, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights appealed to Uliana Suprun, the acting Minister of Healthcare with the request to organize the campaign on the informing of people about the importance of the vaccination of the children against the measles. The appeal was published at the official website of the ombudswoman.
Lutkovska thinks that the growth of the disease in the beginning of 2018 is determined by the absence of the informing of the population about the necessity of the preventive measures.
'I think it is important to hold the all-ways awareness-building that popularizes the preventive measures as well as the determination of the obligatory vaccination. The low information work among the parents, untimely purchase of the vaccines to provide the immunization of the children according to the curriculum led to the unfortunate epidemiological situation', she claimed.
Lutkovska added that the proper awareness-building should be begun right now, including the aim to inform the parents on the consequences of the refusal from the preventive measures.
'The the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights thinks that it is important to immediately begin the campaign on the awareness-building among the population on the importance of the immunization of the children and possible consequences of the refusal from the preventive measures according to the curriculum to provide the children's rights for the health protection and implement their right to get the education', the message said.
As we reported, as at January 12, 74 people, including 57 children became ill due to the measles in Kyiv.
