In the meeting between Ukrainian MPs and Special Representative of the U.S. for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker, among other topics, the preparation of the second hearing on the draft bill on Donbas reintegration, as Head of the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs Hanna Hopko wrote on Facebook.
“We discussed developments on promoting Ukraine’s concept of the UN peacekeeping mission; the draft bill that we are preparing for the second hearing in the parliament, the one that recognizes the Russian aggression and the territories as occupied; the provision of arms,” she wrote.
Hopko also said that she handed over the letter from relatives of the political prisoners of the Kremlin in Crimea and the prisoners of war in Donbas. “We are asking that the humanitarian issues and saving, releasing Ukrainians, prisoners, be the top priority during the negotiations of our Western Partners with Russia, in the meetings with Surkov,” Hopko emphasized.
The parliamentarians also handed their ideas on deploying non-military force in order to force Russia to eave Ukraine, among which blocking of the Nord Stream-2, according to Hopko.
