Ukrainian movie "Frost" takes part in the online festival ArteKino Festival on December 1 - 17, which is held as cooperation between Arte and Festival Scope companies on the initiative of France. This was reported by the press center of the State Agency of Ukraine for Movie.
It is noted that the film is a European co-production.
Ten European films were selected to take part in the festival, 9 of which are available for viewing in Ukraine.
"According to the plot of the film, shooting of which took place in the areas of Anti-Terrorist Operation, the young Lithuanian guy Rokas in one day has an unexpected opportunity to visit Ukraine and see the real occupation and war. The reality turns out to be much tougher than the romantic ideas of the young man," the State Movie Agency comments.
The film is a joint product of Ukraine, Lithuania and France. This is the first international project about the events in Donbas. The role of a military journalist in the movie is featured by the famous French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis. The premiere of the movie took place in the parallel program of Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight.
It is noted that access to online view is free, however, only 200 viewers will be able to see each film and also have the opportunity to participate in the drawing of the trip to Berlinale.
Representatives of 45 European countries can view the selected films. For Ukrainian viewers, all the films are with subtitles in Ukrainian.
As it was reported earlier the biography of one of the most famous writers of the country, Lesya Ukrainka, will be screened in Ukraine. It is noted that the biopic script was selected to participate in the ScripTeast scriptwriter program.
The picture with the working title "Uzlissia" represents the life story of a great woman from her early years to the last days. Oleksandra Lavrenchuk wrote a script about the famous Ukrainian writer.
Yulia Synkevich (JS Films, general producer of the Odesa International Film Festival) was the creative producer and the author of the film's idea, and co-producer is Maria Moskalenko (FX FILM Georgia).
