Ukrainian military received modified Mikoyan MIG-29MU1 fighter aircraft. The aircraft will reinforce the defense capability of Ukrainian army already in one of the military units, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claimed this on Facebook.

‘Mikoyan MIG-29, as well as Sukhoi SU-27, are the main combat aircraft of Ukrainian Armed Forces. More powerful radar station and onboard radio-navigation systems integrated into satellite navigation were installed on the plane,’ Poroshenko claimed.

It is stated that Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant jointly with other enterprises of the State concern Ukroboronprom upgraded the aircraft.

MIG-29MU1 can speed up to 2450 km/h. Air to air missiles, 30mm automatic cannon, bombs and rockets were installed to conduct small and middle range air combat, and to destroy ground targets.

The aircraft is also equipped with sophisticated electronic warfare system, which is designed for an individual protection of the aircraft from surface-to-air missiles and other combat aircraft.
