Ukrainian Maksym Krypak wins fifth gold medal at Tokyo Paralympics

Ukrainian Maksym Krypak has won the fifth gold medal in swimming at the Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Krypak received the seventh medal at the men’s medley, setting the new Paralympic record in 200 m. The Ukrainian outran Italian Stefano Raimondi and Bas Takken from the Netherlands.

As of now, Ukraine has 92 medals – 22 gold, 44 silver, and 26 bronze, and occupies fifth place.

Earlier, the 400 m free style race event (class S10) is over at Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Ukrainian swimmer Maksym Kripak celebrated victory and claimed another gold for his team. 

The 2020 Paralympic Games have started in Tokyo on August 24. The games will last from August 24 until September 5, 2021. About 4,400 athletes from 160 countries participate in the Paralympic Games.

About a hundred athletes come to Tokyo Paralympics from Ukraine. They participate in different competitions, particularly, archery, paracanoe, shooting, table tennis, and others. The biggest team in the Ukrainian Paralympic team is swimmers – 40 athletes.
