The border guards of Ukraine's Joint Forces with the boats of the Ukrainian Navy have held drills in the Sea of Azov to increase the knowledge and skills on the response to the hostile attack from the sea, as the Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
According to the scenario of the drills, a vessel-violator performed the dangerous maneuvers at high speed and tried to approach to the coast for the probable boarding of the diversion group, ignoring the demands of the vessel of the Maritime Border Guard and boats of the Ukrainian Navy.
“During the holding of the drills headed by Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, a vessel-violator was stopped and blocked in the particular area, the boarding of the diversion groups was not allowed by the joint efforts of the vessels of the Maritime Border Guard and boats of the Ukrainian Navy with the help of the artillery from the shore,” the message said.
The Commander of the Joint Forces observed the actions and maneuvers of the subordinates from the deck of Maritime Border Guard vessel “Donbas” headed by Captain 3rd rank Dmytro Hlushak.
“These drills allow us to develop our professional skills, additionally check the coherence of all interacting forces and to be always ready to respond to the events in the area of responsibility,” Hlushak said.
Earlier, the crews of Smerch multiple launch rocket systems have held an exercise in Donbas, outside the combat area.
As we reported, combat exercise with the use of guided missiles took place at Yagorlyk firing range in Kherson region, southern Ukraine.
